I’ll start with the “most talked about” artist, Lady GaGa. She is full of interesting outfits and ideas. But she accomplishes her goals each time she goes onto the stage. She entered into the Grammy’s as a fetus. I understand that was part of her performance. I am sorry to say, it was anti-climactic. I was guessing she was going to jump out of the placenta dressed as a large baby, or she was going to wear child corpses as a belt. I was relieved to see that she did not have any dead babies on her waist. But the buildup was a lot more entertaining than the actual “Birth.” I hope the song catches the attention of her fans, because the performance was average. I was still entertained by the performance and the song, but I was expecting more from the infamous GaGa.
Although Lady GaGa seemed to be the attention grabber, I think we need to talk about a few of the people who were stunning, and a few others who were… not as fantastic. Selena Gomez was gorgeous and ALONE! A woman who looks like that needed a man by her side. Too bad I was out of commission. I was a little surprised to see her alone. That is all right, JB is not good enough for her. Also, we had Katy Perry who brought her Grandma. This was a cool kind of act on her part, maybe she did it to grab attention for herself, but I think it was a kind thing to do for her grandmother. Jennifer Hudson looked very good. (After her Oprah appearance, I was curious as how she was going to present herself) Sadly, not everyone was as good as Jennifer… Miley Cyrus looks depressed, she seems like she is going to take a “Lindsay Lohan” path in her life. Perhaps she can take a page out of Selena’s book and be a little classier, and less trashy. I am sorry to say, I was nervous about Rihanna in her dress. I was waiting for her to fall out. It looked like she had gotten her Christmas tree garland and made a dress out of it. I do not understand what kind of statement she was trying to make… the only statement I got from her was, “Help Me!”
I wanted to see some other people there too. Maybe they were there, and they were not interviewed. I stopped watching after the first hour. So I am saying things blindly, but where was Carrie Underwood? Or Kelly Clarkson, Brooke Faser, Norah Jones, Michael Bublè, Britt Nicole, Skillet, Fireflight, Anberlin, Shiny Toy Guns, The Bravery, Josh Groban, Matthew West, Jason Mraz, OneRepublic, Tao Cruz, and so many more. What about the artists who are very talented but don’t get into the public’s eye because they are “religious” artists. In my opinion these are the talented musicians because they can still make good music without dirty lyrics, and filling our heads with crap that is spread through the radio. Overall, the whole thing had way too much buildup. Why is it that our society needs these kinds of things to look forward to? Why do we really care about who wore what? Although, it is fun to make fun of the strange things people do to get attention. We center our lives on these idols. These mortal beings that have the money to do the things we dream of. That is why we watch them religiously, and listen to their music ever second of every day, and know every detail about them. It is a sad day when a person looks to someone like Lady GaGa for inspiration and guidance rather than God.
